The current corona crisis shows dramatically what can happen if animal viruses are transmitted to humans. The team led by Prof. Dr. Martin Schwemmle, principal investigator in the CRC 1160 (C01), is researching on bat viruses and their transferability to humans. For this, they receive funding from the European Union amounting to 2.5 million euros.
