We are happy to announce the 2021 Klaus Goettler Awardee Ms. Janine Kemming (A06). Congratulations!
The young scientist convinced the Advisory Board of the German Society of Cytometry (DGfZ) with her outstanding work on high-dimensional cytometry analysis of virus-specific CD8+ T cell response in hepatitis C virus, hepatitis E virus, and – currently particularly relevant – in SARS-CoV-2 infections: all viral diseases representing tremendous burden for the society worldwide. The findings, being published in high-ranking journals, have a highly translational character and directly relate to new therapeutical strategies for these diseases.
Ms. Kemming will present her research about characterization of pre-existing and (vaccine-) induced SARS-CoV-2-specific CD8+ T cells in the Klaus-Goerttler-Session of the DGfZ annual meeting on September 30th at 9:30 am.
The DGfZ awards the Klaus Goerttler Prize once a year. The prize is endowed with 1,000 euros and is awarded on the occasion of the annual meeting. The Klaus Goerttler Prize is open to young scientists who have submitted an outstanding doctoral, diploma or equivalent thesis in the field of cytometry.
