Project Summary
Histology, immunocytochemistry and molecular pathology represent essential methods to visualize and interpret immune-mediated pathology. The CRC initiative “IMPATH” uses both human and mouse models of immunopathology, in which major target organs of immune-mediated damage are represented. The Immunopathology Unit provides the necessary techniques and experience to evaluate tissue specimens from the individual IMPATH projects, to transfer knowledge from one model to the other, and fosters the development of novel techniques to characterize immune-mediated pathology.
